CHICKEN GOLD CAMP & OUTPOST –  Airport Rd – Chicken, Alaska

Cleanliness – N/A – no facility to measure.

WiFi – 8/10 – Given two free hours per device.  They tell you that if it doesn’t reach your site, come into the building.  It worked fine at our site.  I will cut this park a little slack.  They are so off the beaten track, that they don’t even offer water at the sites, because water has to be hauled in to town.

Amenities – 4/10 – Convenience store, cafe with beer and wine, Potable water hose to fill tanks, a dump station.

Location – 10/10 – If you drive all the way to Chicken, this is pretty much a great location, given that the “town” is not very large.

Site – 5/10 – Dirt and gravel.  Fairly level. has electric.

Pet Friendly – 5/10 – Again, this park is in the middle of nowhere.  You are expected to attend to your pets, and clean up after them.  Beware:  A moose walked through town yesterday, and kicked a local dog in the leg. Luckily, the dog is ok, but it’s important to keep your pets close by when in a wilderness area.

Would I return?  If I’m in Chicken again – yes.
